The leading representative of the luxury brand InterContinental®Hotels & Resorts in Bulgaria – the five-star InterContinental Sofia became part of the Michelin tourist guide.
The hotel winner of the most international awards in Bulgaria, which is named "Leading Hotel of Bulgaria" for the last six years and "Most Luxurious Hotel in Eastern Europe" for the last five - according to two of the most prestigious international ranking for hotel evaluation in the world, is now included in the selection of the most famous worldwide brand for quality - "Michelin". The ranking focuses on architecture and design, uniqueness of location and overall guest experience, and over the past four years, a team of independent experts has carefully studied thousands of hotels across the world and ultimately determined which hotels meet the high criteria.
"The inclusion of InterContinental Sofia in this extremely renown selection is another recognition of the high level of service and incomparable luxury offered by the hotel from the world famous hotel chain in the Bulgarian capital. Michelin is an iconic brand, and our inclusion in their guide is tantamount to a seal of approval from the industry's most discerning connoisseurs. This is not just prestige for us as a brand, but also for Bulgaria as a whole - positioning the country as a destination offering hotel services at the highest international level," said the general manager of the hotel.
"Michelin" is an internationally recognized standard of quality, and the recognition for hotels is a form of continuation of the tradition of distinguishing restaurants. From April 2024, like the familiar "stars", the "Michelin" guide also introduced the "key" system, which is aimed at hotels. They will be distinguished by one, two or three keys, and the countries included in this ranking will be announced in separate time lots. The new award aims to evaluate hotels beyond the basic amenities they offer, placing an emphasis on their restaurants, design, and service. The guide includes hotels from all over the world, selected according to several criteria, including architecture and design, quality of service, consistency of service offered, uniqueness of the destination, guest comfort, level of maintenance, individual character, value for money.
